Repair Guide: Repair Your Down Jacket
Back in the Field, Fast
Snags and small tears happen. A sharp branch. A fence wire. A hard day doing what your down jacket was built for. That doesn't mean it's done.
That's why our down jackets are finished with the SWANN Tech Repair System - a heat activated patch designed to seal small tears and keep the down where it belongs.
Inside your jacket you'll find the repair patch. Don't throw it away. It's part of the system, ready when you need it.
When a snag or tear appears, make sure the area is clean and dry. Smooth the fabric flat so the edges of the tear sit naturally together. Cut the patch to size, giving yourself a bit of coverage beyond the damaged area.
Place the patch over the tear. Lay a cloth (a tea towel works well) over the patch to protect the fabric. With the iron set to a low to medium heat and no steam, press firmly over the area for several seconds. Apply even pressure - don't slide the iron.
Lift the iron and allow the patch to cool fully before moving the jacket. Once set, the fabric is sealed, the warmth stays in, and you're good to go.
No sewing. No drama. Just a practical fix that gets you back out there.
Because a Swanndri down jacket isn't made to be treated gently.
It's made to keep going.
