Care Guide: High-Performance Fleece
Swanndri high-performance fleece garments are engineered for demanding conditions. These styles use high-performance fleece fabrications combined with other fabrics to deliver warmth, durability, and protection where it counts.
Because of their technical construction, these garments require a slightly different care approach to ensure they continue performing as intended.
Recommended Care
Our high-performance fleece range is designed to handle wind, weather, and hard wear. A perfect example is the Tundra Bush Shirt, which features a bonded membrane to help keep the wind out and shed moisture.
- Gentle care helps protect both the fleece outer and the bonded inner layers
- Spot clean and air when possible
- Ideal for small stains and everyday dirt
- Cold gentle machine wash, when needed
- Wash separately or with similar technical garments to reduce abrasion
- Close all zips and fastenings before washing
- Do not bleach
- Do not use fabric softener
- Fabric softeners can interfere with technical performance and bonded layers
- Line dry in the shade
- Do not tumble dry
- Do not iron
- Do not dry clean
- Cold water washing helps protect the bonded construction and reduces energy use, while avoiding heat prevents damage to membranes and trims
Wash Less, Perform Better
High-performance fleece garments don't need frequent washing. Over-washing and heat exposure can degrade technical fabrics over time.
Whenever possible, hang your garment in fresh air to dry after use. This helps remove moisture and odours without unnecessary washing, extending the life of the garment.
Washing only when truly needed is one of the best ways to preserve performance and reduce environmental impact.
Protecting Technical Construction
To help maintain structure and function:
- Wash high-performance fleece by itself or with similar garments
- Avoid rough fabrics or heavy items that may cause pilling or abrasion
- Remove promptly from the wash once finished
- Allow garments to dry fully before storage
